Ravello… a great and unique monument Proceding north-west from Salerno you meat Ravello. Eye of the architectural and historical heritage of Ravello is “Villa Rufolo”. A complex of constructions Arabian-sicilian erected in the XIII sec. by the Rufolo, the most distinguished family of Ravello, who held positions of prestige in the clergy and known for their business dowry. Since 1880 this wonderful villa was cited in illustrious works by the German musician Richard Wagner, which still today, during the summer, are dedicated important concerts by the most famous international orchestras. The villa rises above a delightful terrace overlooking the gulf, made suggestive by the vegetation. Here there is one of the most beautiful garden of Italy, full of pines, ficus, firs, hydrangeas, lime-trees,…. The charm of the contrast is the magic of Ravallo: the rock and the seduction of the landscape, the hardiness of its streets and the delicacy of its works of art, the melancholic ruins of its buildings in Arab style and charm of its joyful fragrant gardens. Another splendid villa is Villa Ciambrone, which includes a building with two towers, a courtyard with ancient fragments and an opened crypt. You can have a breathtaking view from its garden… Between Salerno and Amalfi, there are four picturesque villages…. Vietri sul mare, that with its panoramic street bring you after 37 kms in the opposite side of the Gulf of Sorrento. Famous for the handcrafts of the ceramics since the Medioevo. Maiori, known for its extended beaches and for the rest of the Norman tower. Minori, the favorite residence of the Roman patricians. The Roman Villa is the testimony of that historical period, dating back to the time of the Emperor Augustus. Atrani, close between two walls of rock, whose its village is crowed around the characteristic bell. The nature here is remained intact over time. Amalfi.. the most ancient maritime republic of Italy The white color of the house that goes down towards the sea, the ruins of ancient towers, villas, gardens, convents, palaces, narrow and picturesque streets make Amalfi scenic. The Cathedral, founded in the IX century, is splendid. It can’t miss a visit to the Grotto dello Smeraldo, for its characteristic coloration for the light filtered from the seawater. Arriving in Positano you are captured by a succession of cliffs, pinnacles, olive trees, bushes, characteristic cubic shape roofs and the terraced urban village. Discending from the Piazza you arrive in the famous beach of Marina Grande. The best panoramic coast view of Positano is “Schiaccone”. And Sorrento, with its luxury vegetation of scented gardens of lemon and orange trees, and the mild climate every season. When you arrive in the centre you are welcome by the Cathedral and its bell placed over 4 old columns. Symbol of the nobility of Sorrento is the Museum Correale di Terranova, where are exhibited ancient Naples and Sicilian furniture. Several excursions by the sea will bring you to discover Punta del Capo and the famous Grotto delle Sirene
