The ceramic of Vietri sul mare
Vietri sul mare is one of the most important coastal towns of the province of Salerno, famous for its ceramics. The oldest testimony of tile dates back to 1627. It represents Christ on the cross with Sant'Antonio da Padova and San Francesco on either side. Just in Piazza Vietri there is still a large panel consists of 42 tiles representing the Virgin Mary, the Maddalena and Saint Giovanni at the foot of the cross.
